When your servers are located in a data center, most management tasks are performed remotely—from your office, from home, or from any location with Internet access. Operating systems, applications, network configuration, and monitoring do not require physical presence.
However, sometimes being physically present is necessary for:
- restarting a server that is not responding to remote commands;
- replacing a failed disk;
- checking a cable connection;
- installing new equipment;
- on-site diagnostics.
That's precisely why the Remote Hands & Eyes service exists, which we offer with server colocation.
What is Remote Hands & Eyes
Remote Hands & Eyes is a service through which the AC☁DC team performs specific physical tasks on your equipment for you—by your instructions, within the agreed timeframe, with full documentation and accountability of the work performed.
The idea is an additional practical benefit for every business, our client: you manage the process and make the decisions, and we are your "hands and eyes" on site. Access to your equipment, the right to control it, and responsibility for the configuration remain entirely yours. We only execute the specifically assigned physical task.
What the AC☁DC team can handle for you
The scope of Remote Hands tasks covers most situations where clients need physical intervention:
- Restarting equipment. When a server is not responding to remote commands and needs a physical restart.
- Checking indicators and visual diagnostics. What is the status of the indicators, are the fans working, are the disks physically installed correctly? This is information that cannot be obtained without on-site inspection.
- Connecting a console cable. When you need access to the server console for diagnostics or configuration and remote access is unavailable.
- Component replacement. Replacing a failed hard disk, RAM module, power supply unit, or other component previously provided by you.
- Mounting and dismounting equipment. Installing a new server, switch, or other device in the rack, physically connecting power and network, arranging and securing cables.
- For power cables: Moving, labeling, or checking network and power cables. Such a task may seem insignificant until it has to be done urgently.
- Checking connectivity. Physical check to see if a given cable is plugged in, all modules are in place, and all panels are properly connected.
- Documentation and photos. If needed, taking photos of the equipment, cabling, or specific components for which you require up-to-date information.
Who the Remote Hands & Eyes service is particularly useful for
Remote Hands & Eyes is not a niche service for specific cases—it is suitable for most clients and users in a data center.
- Companies without an in-house IT team on site. Small and medium-sized businesses, where IT support is outsourced or rests on a single person, can benefit the most. When the only IT specialist is on a business trip, sick, or simply unavailable, Remote Hands provides the physical presence which would otherwise require urgent travel and additional business expenses.
- Companies with remote teams. With a remote team or office location in another city, physical presence in the data center is a matter of time and logistics. Remote Hands & Eyes solves this without taking away valuable resources from your business. See more about how colocation in a data center supports remote work teams.
AC☁DC serves clients not only from Varna, but also from Sofia, Burgas, and other cities, including as a Disaster Recovery point. For them, traveling to the data center for a routine task is not cost-effective.
- Startups and fast-growing companies. When adding new equipment rapidly and your IT team is busy with other priorities, installation and cabling can be delegated to the specialists at AC☁DC on site.
- Companies with Persy Stinger equipment - an additional advantage for these companies is that AC☁DC is a certified Persy Stinger partner, which means our team can perform diagnostics and repairs on Persy equipment without voiding its warranty. You ensure complete security for your equipment
It’s important to note that our Remote Hands & Eyes service does not conflict with safety, security, and protection standards for your equipment and the data of your business and clients.
We have an established process for every request, and operations are performed only after authorization from the client. This means that no one else can request or make changes to your equipment without your express instruction and consent. We guarantee full traceability for every intervention—when, what, and by whom it was done on site.
Our service does not replace regular diagnostics, configuration, maintenance, and management of the client’s server equipment, for which we can assist you additionally.
If you have questions about the Remote Hands service at AbsCloud Data Center, or you want to know how it will work for your business specifically, contact our team or book a tour of the data center.
